Mana Mugguri Love Story (2017)
Raising the bar for the world of Telugu language web series is 'Mana Mugguri Love Story'. Streaming on Yupp TV, the Season 1 of the series makes for an interesting watch.
Starring Tejaswi Madivada as Swathi, Navdeep and Adith in main roles, the feel-good entertainer "deals with the story of an innocent girl, who must choose between the affections of a rich, young boss and an easy-going dude."
Ducking the pressure of her conservative mother, Swathi relocates to Hyderabad to work in an ad agency, where she falls in love with two guys. How she courses through the complicated situation is the crux of the story.
With other familiar faces like Dhanraj, Mirchi Hemanth and Aishwarya (as Tejaswi's old-fashioned mother), the series has already hit the bull's eye. The comic quotient is assured, while Raj Madiraju plays the female lead's father.
Surely, director Shashank Yeleti has everything that it takes to translate his vision, thanks to the high production values (Early Monsoon Tales, a web division of Vyjayanthi Movies, is bankrolling the series).
Going by Tejaswi's characterization, it's intended to dissolve a few cliches. Although an innocuous girl, she is not there to accept authority. The way she questions her mother about the rationale of holding a grand function to celebrate a girl's attainment of puberty is a case in point. It seems many girls are going to love her character.
Kabir Rafi's music and Raj.K.Nalli's cinematography are pleasing. Mickey J Meyer has done the title track. The 18-episode series is being presented by C Swapna Dutt. This is a promising start. Let's see how this series turns out.
